It's hard to believe that we have been working on the website for so long. Mainly, this have been due to strict security concerns by 3rd party companies.
For example, we needed to drop our 128 bit security encryption (SSL) in favor of the shinny new 256 bit flavor. this of course did not translate well to other software that didn't understand it yet.
Then came the dropping of First Data and Linkpoint as our Merchant Service Provider (Credit Card Processing) in favor of a much more secure Authorize.net. This actually came about because we simply became tired of the constant fraud we needed to filter out. Seriously though, why do they think we are going to send a $200 phone to Nigeria, Florida, or even Ohio without checking. I mean, come on. Really.
In becoming PCI Compliant (Credit Card Secure Website) we needed to upgrade all the back end server stuff. Much to our surprise, this seemed to break absolutely everything related to the store. Supposedly there was some PHP code that was a security risk, so the command was removed. However, this broke dozens (hundreds) of add ons for the store. None of this showed up until we went to go live with the new security. Then... poof. All broken.
We are hoping to add some One Page checkout options in the near future. There is no need for that multi page click, click, click nonsense.
